The list of New World weapons just got a lot more exciting with the advent of the blunderbuss.
The Heart of Madness Bring Fresh New World Weapons and Quests
The latest New World update, The Heart of Madness, has landed. And with it comes one of the most exciting New World weapons yet: the blunderbuss. Also, The main storyline is reaching its zenith with the final face-off against Isabella. Though whether that's as exciting as a blunderbuss remains to be seen.
For those that haven't caught up with the recently released New Worldroadmap, the blunderbuss is an exciting addition to the New World weapons arsenal, bringing versatile capabilities. This close-to-mid range olden day shotgun offers two weapon mastery trees comprising Containment or Chaos.
Those who pursue containment will use the blunderbuss in close range, firing point-blank rounds into the enemy's face as a pretty conclusive way of keeping them engaged. Chaos, meanwhile, will see players deploying a not-so-traditional repertoire of explosive AOE attacks.
Along with the release of the blunderbuss comes the new Legendary Weapon Quest series, which is unlocked upon reaching level 60 and the maximum skill level with the firearm. To begin this series, approach Wang Tang Zhi in Ebonscale Reach.
The main story quest-line is also coming to a head with the Heart of Madness update. Within it, players will pursue Isabella back to the Shattered Mountain to commence their final showdown. The epic conclusion will unveil the corrupted recesses of Isabella's mind as combatants pursue the Tempest into a corrupted dimension of reality and the twisted capital city of Myrkgard.
The Tempest's Heart is an endgame expedition for 5 players recommended for level 60 and Gearscores of between 550 and 570. Needless to say, it's time to bring your A-game.
We're interested to see whether the Heart of Madness update is the first step towards reinvigorating the New World playerbase. Myriad issues have culminated in the departure of the Amazon Games boss and a colossal drop-off in active users. But if anything can bring players back in their droves, it's a grenade-throwing blunderbuss.
