The Elder God Wars storyline is reaching its climax with the unveiling of the final chapter
Runescape's Elder God Wars Reaches a Dramatic Conclusion

The final throwdown in a story that has been over a year in the making is upon us. And players had better bring their A-Game, because the name of this ultimate chapter doesn't exactly fill us with hope. Runescape's Elder God Wars : Extinction will put the fate of the universe in the players' hands. And suffice to say, only the best of the best need apply.
Extinction is the first Grandmaster quest since 2016. Which means that even Gielinor's greatest will find their mettle well and truly tested. Which isn't so surprising given the stakes. However, this does mean that several hoops must first be jumped through in order for the adventure to begin. These will include completing the following quests:
- Desperate Measures
- City of Senntisten
- Eye of Het II
It is also recommended to complete the following quests if you are at all interested in the lore behind this cataclysmic finale. These include:
- Sliske's Endgame
- One of a Kind
- Sins of the Father
The past year has seen intrepid adventurers quell the attempts of the Elder Gods to claim the Elder Gods eggs, which when touched would consume the planet, followed by the universe. The whole storyline was to celebrate 20 years of Runescape , so it's no surprise that it has all culminated in such a climactic turn of events.
"Elder God Wars: Extinction is the epic conclusion to our 20th anniversary celebrations," said Matt Casey, Product Director of RuneScape. "Players can expect familiar faces and enemies as they journey across Gielinor as this concluding chapter in the Elder God Wars saga unfolds. Of course, when one chapter ends, another begins and the whole team is excited for players to see what happens next and where we take RuneScape's story from here."
Needless to say, rewards aplenty await the victors. These will include:
- 4 Quest Points
- 4 175k XP Lamps
- A new high-level skilling location.
- Access to high-tier resource-limited rates in six skills including Fletching, Hunter, Herblore, Crafting, Construction and Fishing. These are also repeatable with up to ten hours of activity.
