Trove's Grovin' and Trovin' event will see players band together in order to plant as many Trove Tree Saplings as possible.

The colourful world of Trove is going all green as part of gamigo's commitment to the Playing for the Planet Alliance this month. And for taking part, players can bag themselves a new ally, mount, and a personal sense of satisfaction for making the blocky world of Trove a greener place.

Trove's contribution to the Green Game Jam, an event entitled 'Grovin' and Trovin'', falls under the category of raising awareness through in-game activations. In this instance, that means encouraging players to plant as many trees as possible after acquiring Trove Tree Saplings throughout the event's duration.

Upon planting a mere 1 million in-game trees by 5th July, Trovians will then receive an exclusive mount in the form of the Sapling Sower. A mount that admittedly would have been a lot more useful to have before the herculean task of planting 1 million trees had already been achieved.

One of the ways to acquire Trove Tree Saplings - as well as tons of other goodies - is by watching Trove streams from now until 5th July. Watching anything up to seven hours of these streams during that time will earn viewers the following rewards:

• A daily reward of one Chaos Chest for watching 30 minutes of a Trove stream
• 10 x Tree Saplings for one hour total
• 1 x Streamer Dream 1 for two hours total
• 1 x Streamer Dream 2 for three hours total
• 1 x Streamer Dream 3 for four hours total
• 1 x Dev Dream for five hours total
• 10 x Tree Saplings for six hours total
• 1 x Hyper Tree Friend ally

Note that only the Chaos Chest is a repeatable daily reward - every other reward is available once per account and accounts for the total number of hours watched between now and 5th July. Tree Saplings can also be acquired in-game through normal dungeon crawling throughout the event.

However, an even easier way of acquiring Trove Tree Saplings is by entering the code TROVETREE into Trove's code redemption page. Now as feelgood as "raising awareness" is, streaming itself has an extremely high carbon footprint, so let's hope that the wider efforts of the Green Game Jam (which include planting real trees) are enough to counter balance all that extra viewing.

The next big Twitch stream can be caught tonight at 8pm CEST via the official Trove channel and will feature Join Knilpu, Bliza and Gingervamp playing Bomber Royale and discussing the Grovin' and Trovin' event.

We're hoping that the Grovin' and Trovin' event will see Trovians pool their efforts together in their attempt to plant a cool 1 million in-game trees in the interests of everyone getting a pretty nifty new mount. And in the end, come out recognizing the importance of working together IRL too. We can but dream.
