Guild Wars 2’s third expansion, End of Dragons, has its release date. And an exceptionally flashy trailer showcasing green ‘bots, lasers and gosh-darn tortoise tanks. If you’re a fan of fantasy and sci-fi alike, it looks like you’re in for a good time. Feast your eyes:

The critically acclaimed Guild Wars 2 is set to release End of Dragons on 28th February. It will transport players to the mysterious continent of Cantha, a clandestine region that has maintained an air of secrecy for over 200 years. We guess it’s high time for some plucky adventurers to come barging in.
Once within the region, players will unearth the secrets of the mesmerising dragonjade, which the Canthan civilisation uses to power their futuristic technology. New horizontal progression options include fishing, skiffs (multiplayer sailing vessels with room for groups of five), and the first and best co-operative combat mount ever: the siege turtle. If you can look past the crime of misnaming what is quite obviously a tortoise, it’s almost worth playing the new expansion for the mount alone.
Nine new elite specialisations are also set to change the core gameplay of each profession, whilst large-scale open-world events will return throughout the new map. On top of this, an all-new story will lead players on a journey through a very green region, introducing brand new characters who shall divulge many secrets behind Tyria’s elder dragons.
