A trio of new WoWs French cruisers headline a hefty update!
The New World of Warships French Cruisers Don't Take Prisoners
A new World of Warships update is inbound with an abundance of treasures including a fleet of flashy new World of Warships French Cruisers. They will be joining the first branch of French Cruisers in early access alongside a bunch of new gameplay features in Update 0.11.4. So hunker down, because there's a lot to get through.
The three French cruisers being added to the warship roster include the Tier VIII Cherbourg, the Tier IX Brest and Tier X Marseille. They bring large caliber bow-mounted guns with slow reload times counterbalanced by the Main Battery reload Booster consumable. Here's how to commandeer each one:
- VIII Cherbourg : A super-heavy cruiser with eight 305 mm guns that can be acquired as a reward for completing combat missions.
- IX Brest : A cruiser with 330m main battery guns on the bow that will appear in random bundles available for Doubloons.
- X Marseille : A super-heavy cruiser with nine 330m guns in three turrets on the bow, available to grab at the end of a chain of sequential bundles for doubloons .
But the new World of Warships French cruisers are just the tip of the update iceberg. Update 0.11.4 will also add all Italian destroyers to the tech tree, with more information soon to be laid out in a full article on the website.
A new Arms Race mode will also be introduced, in which certain areas of the map will provide buffs to all of a player's ships. It will only be available in battles where the highest ship tier is IX or X.
Season 17 of Clan Battles will also get underway, codenamed Cayman. And Ranked Battle Season 7 will introduce some changes to increase the level of competitiveness in the Bronze, Silver and Gold Leagues.
There will also be some substantial submarine tweaks as Wargaming continues its tests. Some of these changes include disabling the ability to launch conventional torpedoes at maximum depth, disabling the increased dive capacity depletion rate when detected, and replacing the ping movement with a launch effect.
Plus, the WoWs collaboration with anime shoot-em-up game Azur Lane continues with the addition of new ships, commanders and camouflages, to name a few.
Servers will be down on Thursday May 19 between 7:00 and 10:00 UTC +2 as Wargaming installs the new update. The new World of Warships content runs deep - so dive in via the official website, where players can also nab themselves a free day of premium access.
