World of Warcraft is Twitch dropping Goblin Weather Machines.
WoW Wednesday: How to Earn a Free Goblin Weather Machine
The latest WoW Twitch drop is nigh, ready to reward any player who's prepared to train their eyeballs on a Dragonflight Twitch stream for four hours. For their troubles, they'll earn a Goblin Weather Machine, a device that lets you experience the pleasure of being rained on wherever you go. Thanks, goblins!
To be fair, a Goblin Weather Machine is a pretty neat reward for watching a streamer in the background while you go about your dailies. The toy typically goes for an opening bid of 15k on the Black Market Auction House, and adds a little variety to your day by subjecting your hero to one of four weather effects every 30 seconds: sun, clouds, showers with a chance of lightning, and snow.
Players can earn their climate changing contraption as of 10am PST today, February 1st, until 11:59pm PST on February 5th. Prospective participants must first ensure that they have linked their Twitch and Battle.net accounts by clicking the "Connect" link for Twitch. Accounts will need to be re-linked if any password changes have been made.
After watching any Dragonflight stream for four hours, viewers can then claim their Goblin Weather Machine via Twitch. But be sure to log in to the Battle.net region in which you would like to receive the drop. Drops can then take up to 24 hours to be received in-game after claiming, and will expire after seven days.
Unsurprisingly, there has been a smattering of discontent about the latest Twitch drop among some players. Some, for example, are decrying the move to send players over to Twitch instead of offering a way of earning the item in-game. However, for a pretty inconsequential item that is nearly fifteen years old, we don't see the harm in using this opportunity to support some lesser-known streamers, and getting rewarded in the process. But be sure to let us know your views via our social media.
