Rising Storm is a shooter based on the Pacific theatre in the Second World War which allows players to fight across iconic locations from the famous island-hopping campaigns in the Pacific from 1942 to 1945. Rising Storm is a stand alone expansion to the famous shooter Red Orchestra 2: Heroes of Stalingrad. Step back in time as the US Army and Marine Corps fight it out with the Imperial Japanese army and Special Naval Landing Forces. Players will experience beach assaults, jungle fighting, close quarters night fighting and more across Guadalcanal, Iwo Jima and Saipan, and other iconic locations. The player is able to take the part of either side – American or Japanese – battling it out online in multiplayer on up to 64-player servers.
Rising Storm Key Features
Iconic Locations - Fight on the beaches of Saipan, hold the line in the steaming Guadalcanal jungle, and struggle for control of Mt Suribachi on Iwo Jima. The locations are beautifully rendered, delivering an immersive game experience.
Asymmetrical Warfare - The sides are not equal. The Americans tend to have better equipment and much more reliable resupply. The Japanese forces balance this with a mix of cunning and ferocity. Play to your strengths, not the enemy's!
Epic World War II Gameplay - The Pacific War is often lost in the shadow of the fighting in Europe and Africa, but the battles were no less intense, and the outcome no less critical. Experience the other war, on the far side of the world, as never before. Fight in battles featuring up to 64 players.
WWII Weaponry Redefined - All of the weapons content you've come to expect from the Red Orchestra franchise is back. Experience true to life ballistics, bullet penetration, breathing, adjustable sights, free aim, weapon bracing, and more. Use iconic Pacific theater weapons including the devastating flamethrower and the portable “knee mortar”.
