Salem

Salem is a fully open world sandbox MMORPG with a heavy focus on crafting, set in New England during the early Colonial Period. Players take on the role of intrepid colonists from the Old World, seeking to make a living in New England. Utilize unique crafting, farming, and building systems inspired by 17th century alchemy. The game features permadeath as one of its main ingredients, along with an in-depth character development system without set roles, where the player can chose which kind of game to play. Taking place in the time of the first Pilgrims, Salem lets you live as an explorer in the new world; building your settlement, learning new skills and maybe fight with your neighbours.

Salem Key Features

Open World Sandbox – Play as you wish; whether you want to explore new places, build amazing things, or climb the political ladder is all up to you. Beware, however; you have only one life to live! Your character will develop according to your playstyle, but should they die, you’ll need to begin anew.

Everything Is Player Made – The only place in Salem not built by the players is the main city Providence, which is a safe-zone where one can meet other players, trade, converse and enjoy the social aspects of the game. Everywhere and everything else is player made.

Danger Lurks – Outside of Providence only wilderness awaits, and the further you come from civilization the darker and more dangerous the world around you becomes. Until you reach the deep lumberwoods and no longer have to fear Pilgrims but instead witches and hidebehinds…
