After a long hiatus from big AAA games, British developer Rare has made a triumphant return with Sea of Thieves. This team, nestled in the northeast of Birmingham, has something truly special in store for you in this online game: Ideally, you won't sail the virtual seas alone but with up to three companions. Each member of your crew aboard your own ship has a specific role: one takes the helm, one acts as the lookout, and the other two tend to the sails, anchor, or cannons during combat situations.

In the world of Sea of Thieves, various factions offer missions for you to undertake. You might have to hunt for and deliver treasures to the quest giver or take down specific skeletons or capture animals. There are also story missions, time-limited events, and seasons to keep you motivated for the long haul. The action game's missions are procedurally generated, so you'll never run out of assignments. For every completed quest, you and your crew earn gold and, in some cases, doubloons.

With these riches, you can acquire new items from traders, such as weapons, clothing, or decorations for your ship. None of these items have any gameplay impact. All types of equipment are available to you from the start. In Sea of Thieves, no player has an advantage over others. Your success in battles against other pirates depends on how smart you and your crew are, not on your character or ship's equipment.
