Big news for next gen console owners as Black Desert on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S is officially in the pipeline. Which makes us wonder: are we ready for next-gen renderings of its sheer beauty?
The move to next-gen may come as a bit of a surprise to those who have been paying attention. In a notice on the Black Desert console website, Head of Black Desert Game Design, Je-seok Jang, stated that the official stance was to initially focus on optimising the games on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
However, due to immense fan demand, the wheels of next-gen compatibility have begun to turn. But bear in mind: they are turning slowly, with no set date announced as yet. So it could be some time before we finally see Black Desert on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S.
BDO Season+ Server
More imminent updates, however, have come in the form of the Season+ server release on PC - with a console launch slated for 13th October.
Season+ is like a Season Server - but plus size. Season Servers allow players to level up more quickly and efficiently than their normal counterparts. And this Season+ server affords adventurers a chance to complete their Season pass and Black Spirit pass in order to receive their Weapon Exchange Coupons.
Plus, the all new Growth pass will be released on 29th September. This greatly increases the ease with which players can enhance their gear. There will also be new ways to upgrade certain gear to the highest levels after graduating from the Season+ servers.
To celebrate the new Season+, new players on PC can earn a free Black Desert Online Novice Edition by playing the free trial and levelling to 50. To facilitate this, Pearl Abyss have extended the free trial period to 14 days from now until 6th October.
Plus, players who reach level 56 and finish the Awakening quest and/or Succession quest will be entered into a raffle that will be doling out any one of 200 Legendary Bundles, each worth 250USD/EUR. So make sure to dive into BDO while it’s all kicking off over the next couple of weeks.
