Jagex has announced that after three years of development Transformers Universe isn’t what people will have been expecting. It will be a MOTA, Massively Online Tactical Action game. Mark Gerhard, CEO and CTO of Jagex has said that the Tranformers Universe MOTA is 100% set to launch this summer. Very soon players will be able to see the first in engine trailer which will be the first time to see some of the bots that will be playable in game. News on beta is also expected soon.

38 Studios’ Curt Schilling Battling Cancer

It has been revealed that Curt Schilling, best known to the gaming community for the 38 Studios controversy is battling cancer. This was revealed by ESPN, his current employer. It has not been said what type of cancer he has or what his prognosis is. Our thoughts will be with Curt and his family during this difficult time and we wish him a speedy recovery.

Rift Annouces Dream Weaver Update

Telarans won’t have to wait much longer before they can jump into update 2.6 of Rift. The Dream Weaver update is expected to launch on February 12th. In Dream Weaver players will get access to the Dream Weaver crafting skill, a new Bounty system will be introduced, and the Air Saga storyline will be introduced. Of course that isn’t all that is expected in the patch. There will also be cosmetic additions, mounts, artifacts, and much more.

Twitch is 4th Most Viewed Website in the USA

According to the Wall Street Journal Twitch is the fourth most visited website by Americans. This puts them above Facebook, Hulu, Amazon, and Valve. The only sites more popular than Twitch are Google, Apple, and Netflix. Congratulations to Twitch for being so awesome!

Ultima Online and Dark Age of Camelot Changing Hands

Mythic co-founder Rob Denton is forming a new studio which will be taking over development of both Dark Age of Camelot and Ultima Online. Broadsword Online Games will be in charge of operations, support, and development for the two MMOs on EA’s behalf. EA will still provide billing and account services through Origin.
