The latest update for Lineage 2 Essence entrusts teenagers with guns, which sounds like a terrible idea until you realise that the same teenagers have also been given healing powers. The gun-toting Sylphs are the latest race to be added to the fantasy MMORPG, acting as damage-dealing healers and resembling teenage elves. An independent Ertheia tribe created by the Goddess Einhasad and brought to life by Saiha, God of the Wind, these elf-like beings wield the wind as their weapon - in addition to decidedly less ambiguous guns. Unsurprisingly, this gun-loving race brings with it the new Gunslinger class.
In addition, a new location has been revealed: the ominous Hellbound. This inter-server hunting zone harbours new epic bosses and can only be accessed on Saturdays from 10:00 - 20:00, as it is otherwise enshrouded by poisonous vapours. The treacherous new locale can also be enjoyed alongside a highly-challenging mission dubbed ‘Purge’. This event challenges players to massacre as many monsters as possible within a given time limit, with top-scorers awarded with unique weapons for their bloodthirsty efforts.
Finally, if you’ve ever felt that you may have picked the wrong role in life (we’ve all been there) then for the next month, players at level 76 and higher will be given the chance to switch their class and race. This can be achieved by purchasing a special coupon on the 4game launcher, which is probably worth it if the alternative is spending days/weeks/months grinding a brand new character. Now that the Sylphs have been introduced, you may find yourself wanting to take full advantage of this limited event.
