As we round the corner for its release at the start of June, Blizzard has delivered the pre-patch for The Burning Crusade Classic. That means World of Warcraft players are now faced with some big choices: Stick with the base WoW Classic or move to TBC? Blood Elf or Draenei? Clone your character at a cost or decry the expense as you shake your fist at the sky and shout ‘Blizzaaard!’? It’s a real head-scratcher.

If you do decide to delve into The Burning Crusade Classic, then the pre-patch has a lot to take in. Aside from the ‘new’ races, classes and mounts there’s also stat, attribute and consumable overhauls as well as the introduction of the new ‘Combat Rating System’. It’s this veritable mountain of new content that is partly why we’re so excited about it. It’s just like receiving a brand new game. Which it is, but also isn’t.

Either way, there’s a lot to get your head around. So if you want a full guide and summary of what to expect then look no further than Wowhead who have created a handy guide for the latest pre-patch release.

Trans Warcraft Character Confirmed

A long-speculated theory has just been confirmed by the lore book World of Warcraft: Folk & Fairy Tales of Azeroth. Lore aficionados are well aware of prominent character Chromie, a bronze dragon who takes a female human form despite being referred to as the masculine Chronormu in dragon form.

In a short story starring Chromie, a blue dragon asks her why she chose ‘to become female’ in her human form, to which she responds ‘it suits me’. In a Tweet that asked WoW narrative lead, Steve Danuser, to confirm suspicions that Chromie is the next trans Warcraft character, Danuser responded, ‘Pronoun usage through the course of the story was done deliberately. I encourage reading the story as a whole rather than just excerpts. Prior to the Visage Day ceremony, Chronormu is he/him. Afterwards, she/her in both mortal and dragon forms.’

While another positive step towards representation, Chromie isn’t the first trans Warcraft character to be confirmed. In the Shadowlands expansion, Aspirant Pelagos was introduced as a character who presented as a woman in his mortal life, but chose to be a man in the afterlife.
