There are no limits when it comes to content for the phenomenal Valheim. Of course, mods are one thing. But then there’s the smorgasbord of baked-in opportunities available to creative Vikings. With its ludicrously intricate building mechanics, Valheim could be seen as a more mature Minecraft. But the disparity in maturity really does reach dizzying heights when you see the latest monstrosity created by a Valheim player.

Reddit user and talented Valheim player, PonyPosts is the most recent player/mad scientist to make headlines with their ‘creation’. Dubbed Frankenheim by one fan, the admittedly impressive abomination is a testament to the limitless possibilities of Valheim. But it also begs the question: just because we can, does it mean that we should?

Frankenheim is composed of a nauseating mishmash of inanimate objects. First is the head of a (presumably) once-dead Troll. Then multiple foodstuffs, including fish feet and sausage fingers make up its extremities. A slab of wood comprises its torso with what looks to be a loaf of bread forming its pelvis. And yes, it is indeed alive.

Perhaps it’s a commentary on the dichotomy of life and death. After all, this poor Troll was both killed then unceremoniously resurrected in the semi-afterlife. What does that mean, philosophically? We can’t be sure. But one thing we are certain of is that we won’t be eating a sausage sandwich for a while.

Valheim the Pony

Creations such as these are really only a matter of time when you consider Valheim’s vast playerbase. The overnight success of this Viking-themed survival game was no doubt a pleasant surprise to developer Iron Gate Studios, to put it mildly. With nearly 7 million copies sold, people are no doubt wondering what Iron Studios will do with all that money. Well now we have an answer: buy a pony. Which, in retrospect, seems kind of obvious.

'Valheim' the pony was revealed to fans in a recent development update. The adorable steed was, in fact, bought for Skövde ryttarförening (Sköve riding club) by Iron Gate, but remains an honorary member of the dev team.

Unfortunately, no, this does not mean that horses will be introduced to Valheim in their upcoming Hearth and Home update. But now we know we can make 'living' creatures out of food, who knows what’s in store?
