One of the biggest WoW Esports tournaments of the year begins this weekend.
WoW Wednesday: Big Expectations as the AWC 2022 Regional Cups Begin

The time has once again arrived to feast our eyes on one of the biggest WoW esports tournaments of the year: Arena World Championship 2022. And the icing on the cake is that we could be in for the most high-stakes AWC yet.
The proceedings begin this weekend, with four separate open cups for Europe and North America inviting the pluckiest players of each region to test their mettle in 3v3 arena bouts. The eight highest-scoring WoW whizzes will then snatch up their share of the weekly $10,000 prize pool, and move one step closer to the Global Finals later this year.
Associate Product Manager of WoW esports, Adrian "Healingstat" Archer-Lock, is particularly hyped, stating that "These cups are especially exciting. Teams have been getting better and better with more orgs entering the space, ensuring the competition has never been higher in the history of AWC." A tall claim that we hope rings true - this year does mark 15 years of WoW Esports, after all. A bit of uncompromising drama during one of the biggest WoW esports tournaments would be the perfect celebration.

- 18th - 19th March - Cup 1
- 26th - 27th March - Cup 2
- 1st - 3rd April - Cup 3
- 10th - 8th April - Cup 4
Time: 10:00am PT
Prize Pool : $700,00 grand total/$10,000 per region, per cup
Format : Double elimination, best of five.
The weekly $10,000 prize pool will be divided out among the four top scorers, with first place teams netting themselves a cool $5,000 each week.
The casters from across this weekend and beyond also comprise the usual suspects, including Gillian "Eiya" Long, Sid "Supatease" Compston, Elliot "Venruki" Venczel and Mohamed "Ziqo" Beshir.
