Star Vault CEO Henrik Nystrom took to Twitch to reveal the Mortal Online 2 roadmap.
UE5 Graphics and New Mechanics Unveiled in Mortal Online 2 Roadmap
"The most immersive sandbox MMORPG" Mortal Online 2 just received a new roadmap as part of hardworking Star Vault CEO Henrik Nystrom's recent livestream. And a cavalcade of content is in store, as well as some shiny new graphics as Mortal Online 2 moves to Unreal Engine 5.
The latest Mortal Online 2 roadmap is pretty extensive, to say the least. Consisting of 5 "sprints" topped off with the graphical overhaul, there's plenty for the title's loyal playerbase to look forward to over the coming months.
The first sprint looks to deliver a combine tool, kegs, more hotbar options, pet follow mechanics, and more points of interest. The second will bring new dungeons, even more points of interest, and "polish". Which is vague yet somewhat exciting all the same.
The third sprint will bring beast mastery, a new mount, and the ability to trade and demolish houses. The fourth will implement pet navigation in houses, weather effects, and the long-awaited elementalism. Sprint five introduces territory control, a siege system, and table games.
Finally, the "epic release" will see Mortal Online 2 powered by Unreal Engine 5, alongside some other pretty substantial changes such as a much-needed increase in server capacity. Also on the horizon are notice boards for guild trade and recruitment, a rehauled new player experience, night vision, new zone rules, thievery mechanics, and enhanced citizen behaviour.
While this Mortal Online 2 roadmap is full of exciting features, it has been noted by players that there was a distinct lack of dates attached to each promise, leading some to believe that we have a long time to wait yet. "Sprints" are typically delivered in quick succession. However, Star Vault has been criticised for its sluggishness in delivering new features.
But provided the time taken to deliver these new features yields polished results, we'd say it's probably worth the wait. Mortal Online 2 has seen a steady number of players continue to return to its persistent world since its release, and we'd wager that next year heralds big things that could even see that number rise.
