Since season 10, you can not only play together with friends, but also work towards a common goal.
How guilds work in the pirate game
Guilds are actually standard in many online games. In Sea of Thieves, it took five and a half years before players were allowed to form guilds outside of friend lists. Now it's possible to form your own pirate guild and work together to cause fear and terror, or for cohesion and togetherness. Depending on what kind of pirate you want to be.
Basic details about the guild
In Sea of Thieves, you can be a member of or own three guilds at the same time, with 24 members allowed per guild. Each guild has its own guild name, a self-designed crest, a color scheme and a matching motto. The latter may not be self-written like the name of the guild, but the selection is decent. After that is done, you can decide whether you want to give your ship or all your ships to the guild.
This has the advantage that you can reach milestones for your ship even if you are not online. However, this only works if you are the captain of a ship. You can also see an overview of the guild, role assignments and general information directly in the main menu of Sea of Thieves, so you don't have to create a game session first. However, you should make sure that you are sailing for a guild when you start the game. There are three different options for how you want to play Sea of Thieves. Either you sail in the classic way without a captain, you are the captain yourself, or you sail the seas for a guild.
How to earn fame and gold
To level up in your new and own faction, you'll have to do exactly what you already do in the pirate game. Complete sea voyages for the different factions (Gold Collector, Order of Souls, Trade Alliance, Reaper's Bone, Athena's Blessing or Call of the Hunter), take part in hourglass battles and experience the stories of the Tall Tales. Of course, the more valuable the treasure, the higher the reward. However, the amount of experience and gold you'll receive is based on a guild. This means that if you sail alone, your progress will be very small and hardly noticeable, especially during the first sea voyages.
Ambassador of your own guild
As with the other factions, it is possible to sail as an ambassador for your own guild. However, you must have reached at least level 15 to do so. Once this is done, you can activate your ambassador status with the rulers, analogous to the other factions. The more treasures you give to the rulers, the more gold and experience you will gain. In addition, ambassadors can unlock new titles and cosmetic items such as trinkets (including animated paintings) for their own ship.
These rewards are available for guilds
A guild can unlock various rewards in the form of cosmetic items such as outfits or ship designs. Currently, there are four different outfits that you can earn as a member of a guild. These include:
- Constant Navigator - unlocks at guild level 20
- Chef of the Seas - unlocks at guild level 40
- Blasted Cannoneer Outfit - unlocks at guild level 60
- Outfits of the Heroic Helm - will be unlocked from guild level 80
In addition, there are some titles that can also be unlocked. However, it should be noted that you will lose the outfits when you leave the respective guild. However, the titles will remain with you in the pirate game.
In addition, guilds can receive awards in ten levels. However, this only works after you reach guild level 100. After that you have to fulfill further goals. But of course there is something for that and that is the ship design "Unbroken bonds".
- Flag - will be unlocked at award level 2
- Wheel - unlocked at award level 4
- Capstan - unlocked at award level 6
- Cannons - will be unlocked at award level 8
- Hull - will be unlocked at award level 9
- Sails - unlocked at award level 10
A badge on the main mast on your ship will show you what award level you currently have. The design also changes depending on the level.
- normal badge - award level 0
- Bronze badge - award level 1-4
- Silver badge - award level 5-9
- Gold badge - award level 10
