We can’t wait to get stuck into these MMO and multiplayer Gamescom highlights.
The Best Multiplayer Highlights from Gamescom
Gamescom, the world's largest gaming convention, has wrapped up for 2022. With it came a cavalcade of big reveals, including brand new games that have us feeling psyched.
Of course there were plenty of multiplayer and MMO offerings revealed as part of the event. And we thought it would be prudent to list some of the best multiplayer Gamescom highlights for our MMO-loving readers.
Little was revealed about the upcoming Dune MMO which was unveiled with an epic CGI trailer. But its promise of blending survival and social mechanics has us pretty excited for its development. Here's what we know so far.
Quantum KnightsAn exciting futuristic fantasy title rife with "technomagic". This looter shooter looks reminiscent of Destiny but with a mediaeval spin. The slated release is 2023.
Veiled ExpertsA third-person shooter in which players must deploy the unique abilities of one of several agents in strategic team-based battles. Veiled Experts is currently billed as "coming soon".
Another third-person shooter but with lore-rich co-op gameplay. Players will find themselves completing scenario missions in a beautifully rendered world alongside up to four other players. Also "coming soon".
MaraudersA dieselpunk sci-fi FPS set in an alternate timeline in which the Great War never ended. Looting, shooting and exploring the stars are at the core of this team-based shooter in which players face rival teams or AI in fast-paced bouts. Marauders is set to release in October this year.
RedfallAn open-world shooter based in the fictional town of Redfall, a town overrun by vampires. Four heroes with unique abilities must keep vampires and antagonistic fellow humans at bay. Redfall is a Bethesda-published title set for release in the first half of 2023, meaning we can assume it will be on Xbox and PC.
Suffice to say, the multiplayer Gamescom highlights were pretty rife with shooters. But alongside exciting upcoming projects like the anticipated LoL MMO, we're excited for the future of the genre.
