After what’s being called a successful members-only testing period and soft launch in certain territories, Old School RuneScape‘s mobile version appears ready for the big time. The OSRS Mobile launch date has been officially locked down, granting iOS and Android users access to the classic sandbox MMORPG at the end of October.
Tuesday, October 30th will see OSRS make it to both the Apple Store and Google Play, with pre-registration available on both storefronts.
As mentioned before, the mobile edition of Old School RuneScape features full cross-platform play with the PC version, which means you can pick up right where your PC character left off while you’re on the go. The mobile game touts a number of features including intuitive touch controls and the ability to run on older devices such as those with Android Lollipop or iOS 10.
“The next few weeks are going to be incredibly exciting for myself, the Old School RuneScape mobile team,” remarked producer John Colgrave. “Today’s invitation to pre-order and pre-register the game on the App Store and Google Play is a hugely significant one, and we can’t wait to throw open the doors next month.”
We expect that diehard players of OSRS will be very excited indeed to see this game’s full arrival to their mobile devices, particularly since there’s full cross-platform support. Gee, it’s almost like having people play the same game on multiple devices is a good idea.
