Jagex kicks of the closed beta phase for Chronicle: RuneScape Legends today, and it’s calling out for all the warriors, mages and thieves to participate! The free-to-play online strategy game, which is set to launch in 2016, will open its servers to a mass audience for the first time after a successful showcase at RuneFest 2015.
During the closed beta, players can choose from four iconic ‘Legends’ of the RuneScape universe, and use their crafted decks of cards to create their own adventures across five engaging chapters set in the world of Gielinor. Your opponent forges their own quest across the board, and then you’ll duel for victory! Each Legend has its own characteristics and playing style, deepening the strategies and tactics players can use to secure success. In the Chronicle closed beta you’ll also be able to use the game’s detailed crafting system. You’ll have over 270 cards available to collect and sort into battle-winning decks as well!
James Sweatman, lead designed for Chronicle, had the following to say about the launch of the closed beta:
“We are so excited to finally get Chronicle into the hands of players! The team and I are looking forward to gathering feedback from what is a truly authentic beta experience, where the players’ comments will mold the game ahead of launch next year. This is the most significant milestone yet for the game, and we are hoping it will delight RuneScape and strategy card fans alike.”
You can find out more about Chronicle: RuneScape Legends and register for the PC closed beta on their official website.
Chronicle brings something unique to the CCG genre, and we’re happy to see the game opening up to a bunch of new players. Hopefully the game will add more legends along the way, because the only problem we see right now is the scarcity in playable characters, as the rest all looks amazing!
