Dota 2’s TI7 Prize Pool Breaks the $20M Mark

Here we go again. The International 2017 prize pool is already blowing apart records that were set last year and we’re not even close to the official competition yet. Battle Pass sales for Dota 2 have brought the premier esports competition over the $20M mark.

The 2017 Battle Pass’ addition of PvE gameplay along with Team Quests, Battle Point Tributes, Prestige Towers and a whole lot more appear to have drawn in multiple buyers. Since 25% of the Battle Pass sales go directly into the International’s prize pool, things appear to be on track for this year’s competition to once more have the richest prize in all of esports.

Dota 2’s The International 2017 will be held at Seattle’s KeyArena on Monday, August 7th through Saturday, August 12th. Details of this year’s Battle Pass for Dota 2 can be found on the game’s official site for the event.

Our Thoughts

It’s completely insane to consider how big this prize pool could possibly get. We thought last year’s event was going to be the high mark, but it’s very clear that this year’s The International is going to blow things out of the water. Anyone taking bets on how high this will go?
