E3: Nintendo Surprises with Online Multiplayer, Splatoon

During today’s Nintendo digital press conference for E3 an online eight person shooter called Splatoon was revealed. In it players are divided into two teams and shoot ink to claim territory. Players will be ranked by how much of the map they’ve covered with their ink.

Players can swap between a human form and a squid form. In squid form they’re able to swim through the ink of their team’s color. This allows them to get up walls, travel quickly, and more. While walking through the enemy’s ink will slow you down.

Splatoon will be coming out for the WiiU only of course.
