For everyone eagerly waiting for Motiga’s cartoonish MOBA Gigantic to exist closed beta and be accessible to all players, this is the update you’ve been anticipating. Motiga and Perfect World Entertainment have announced that the Gigantic open beta is starting on December 8.
The Gigantic open beta is accessible on Windows PC via the Arc platform and on Xbox One through the Xbox Game Preview Program. The MOBA will offer cross-play between the two platforms as well, so players can face against their friends or team up regardless of platform.
Players can also check out Gigantic for a limited time during this weekend’s Closed Beta test, which runs from Thursday, December 1 at 9:00am (PST) through Sunday, December 4 at 11:59 pm (PST).
As part of the Xbox Game Preview program, the free Open Beta features a weekly rotation of six heroes from a roster of 16 and three maps: Siren’s Stand, Ghost Reef and Sanctum Falls.
Each hero features a unique playstyle that can be further customized via skill trees during each match. Teams work together to attack enemies while claiming points on the map to summon powerful Creatures. Players can power up their team’s Guardian by controlling the battlefield and defeating enemies. Victory is awarded to the team that overpowers their opponents’ Guardian.
It’s great to have a chance to play Gigantic freely starting December so we are definitely going to take it for a spin. We’ve been reading various previews and impressions from the closed beta but nothing beats first-hand experience, right?
