While an online tower defense game like Orcs Must Die! Unchained isn’t a setting one would typically associate with a fancy storefront, the newest update to the game is bringing precisely that. Orcs Must Die Unchained release 2.1 will offer some new gameplay features, balance updates, and the aforementioned Premium Shoppe, which you know is premium because of the extraneous two letters in the spelling of “shop”.
Release 2.1’s Premium Shoppe will let players who are Tier 7 turn in duplicate Trap Cards for Gibs. This currency can be spent in the Shoppe for chests that have better odds for Rare cards, unique vanity items, and more.
For those who aren’t feeling quite so fancy, the new update also is introducing a new Gnoll Breeder Mercenary, new consumables, base deck consumables and a new map for Sabotage mode, and tweaks to a large selection of the game’s roster. The complete patch notes can be found on the website.
We’re sure that those Gibs are only premium medallions of Orc. Obviously.
All kidding aside, the opportunity to turn in unwanted items for something better is a very obviously good move, and it appears that Sabotage mode is gaining some traction with the new items and map. We hope fans find a lot to enjoy and that their shoppe-ing experience is truly premium.
