Rocket League Rumble Mode Arriving in September

The announcement that Psyonix teased would be made during the Rocket League Championships is official: Rocket League Rumble Mode will bring a power-up loaded twist to classic Rocket League play.

Touted as a “chaotic” game mode, Rumble will be free to all players and introduces a selection of power-ups that players use during the match. These power-ups include a Freezer power, a Grappling Hook, a Spike which sticks the ball to your vehicle, and a Tornado that sweeps the ball and other cars up in a funnel cloud.

The Rumble Mode is teased as being part of “a much bigger update” that will release for the game in September. In the meantime, a teaser trailer showing Rumble Mode in action can be seen below.

Our Thoughts

Rumble Mode looks like it’s going to bring a lot of fun, new wrinkles to the classic Rocket League game. The implications to regular play and to eSports competition are very intriguing indeed, assuming the Mode is included in competition. We’re very eager to see what sort of insanity the power-ups will cause, and we’re also very curious about what other features will be part of this larger September update.

Your Thoughts

What do you think of the new Rumble Mode? Do you think this will be a fun addition or will it just bring too much madness to the game’s structure? Tell us your opinion below.
